Executives' Course
Executives' Course
Project Background/Need:
Over the past 4 years, Olim Beyahad has successfully assisted approximately 300 Ethiopian Israeli university graduates in finding compatible jobs at the forefront of Israel's workforce, some of whom have already been promoted to management positions and others who are hoping to be promoted to these types of positions in the future.
The organization identified a need to establish a special Executives' Course for graduates of our core program who are currently employed in management positions. The underlying idea of the course is to provide participants with tools and knowledge about managing projects and people, while also giving them the ability to develop and execute their own social initiatives. The Course will also focus on instilling participants with an understanding of how to be effective managers, improving their management skills, providing the young managers with practical tools to help them fulfill their goals, and giving them the opportunity and tools to initiate and develop social initiatives that will impact society. These initiatives will be led by the young managers participating in the training.
Target Population:
Ethiopian Israeli university graduates who have completed Olim Beyahad's core program and have been promoted to management positions.
Project Goals:
- To provide participants with the necessary knowledge and tools to succeed at their current management positions and improve their ability to be promoted within their workplaces.
- To enable participants to initiate and lead various social projects at their workplaces and in Israeli society in general.
- To create a high-quality group of young and professional leaders who will influence all of Olim Beyahad's program participants.
Method/Project Description:
Olim Beyahad's Executives' Course is built according to the same principles as the Executives' Courses operated by Checkpoint Software Technologies' and other firms. In the framework of our Executives' Course¸ participants learn about a wide variety of topics that are relevant to individuals working in management positions, and they acquire numerous skills that will enable them do their jobs successfully and even enable them to be promoted again in the future. The Course also improves participants' leadership skills, enables them to form a supportive group of colleagues, facilitates the expansion of the social network of Olim Beyahad graduates, and strengthens the connections between the participants (who did not all participate in Olim Beyahad's core program during the same year).
We would also like this Course to serve as a forum for the development and leadership of innovative and widespread social initiatives. In the framework of the Course, participants will split up into groups and each group will develop its own initiative, while senior figures at Checkpoint Software Technologies will serve as group mentors and accompany the groups throughout the process. The climax of this activity will be presenting the various initiatives to a group of potential investors, led by Checkpoint. The chosen project will be awarded with a separate investment that will enable the winner to execute the initiative.
It should be emphasized that Olim Beyahad's partnership with Checkpoint is an important part of the Executives' Course, as it provides another opportunity for networking with senior figures at Checkpoint who serve as the group mentors in the contest and come to lecture participants throughout the Course.
